Kampala International University in Tanzania, commonly known by the acronym KIUT, is one of the recognized universities in Tanzania. This institution plays an important role in higher education by offering academic and professional training to students from Tanzania and beyond.
University Background
The Kampala International University in Tanzania (KIUT) was founded in Tanzania in 2008 as a Dar es Salaam Constituent College of the Ugandan Kampala International University. Dar es Salaam Constituent College was associated with Kampala International University at the time (KIU-DCC). The major purpose of the institution was to deliver academic and professional courses given by Kampala International University (KIU) via Open and Distance Learning (ODL). The first address of KIU-main DCC’s office was on the 8th Floor of Posta House Building along the Uganda/Ohio street junction in Dar es Salaam, beside the headquarters of the Higher Education Accreditation Council (HEAC), which later changed to the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU). The College was founded in November of 2009.
